Paola Aguirre Honored by Landmark Illinois

Design Trust Chicago’s co-founder, Paola Aguirre, was one of five leaders recently honored as a 2023 Landmarks Illinois Influencer, commemorating her work in shaping the built environment across the state. The distinction marks Paola’s joining of Landmarks Illinois in its efforts to create a more diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible preservation movement in Illinois. She was officially recognized at Preservation Forward, Landmarks Illinois’ annual spring fundraiser hosted in early March, which raised $730,000 for the organization. 

Paola was also featured as a speaker in Deem Journal’s inaugural symposium, Designing for Dignity: A Convening of Possibilities. The event, hosted in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art, brought together designers, practitioners, and community members for a conversation around emergent and liberatory directions within design.
